Henry Carr
Gunsmith
Paul's Street
Corke
As can be deduced for the above advertisement Henry Carr had served his apprenticeship with his brother Thomas Carr* in Limerick and was now trading in his own right at the sign of the "Cross Blunderbusses and Trophy of Arms" in Paul's Street, Corke. This statement leads us to believe that this business was in future taken on by Robert Rogers as the description of the sign mirrors that of the logo below.
* Thomas Carr 1760-d.1776. Freeman of Limerick 13/10/1760.

The approximate trading dates for Henry Carr are: 1762-1773? However, Robert Rogers earliest recorded date is circa 1805. Therefore, either Carr worked on into the 19th century or Robert Rogers dates need to brought forward? Research on-going.
Could this be the sign as described above?
The other piece of relevant evidence being that Robert Rogers commenced his business at Paul's Street prior to him removing to Patrick Street.
We do know for certain that Joseph Bowls took over the business of Robert Rogers in March 1818 on Rogers retirement.
We are always interested in pistols/guns produced by the aforementioned gunmakers.
