                                                         The Registration Act of 1843.

 Possibly one of the last licences issued in County Carlow in April 1846 to Mr Samuel Thorpe of  Grangeford, County Carlow.

Although the law was passed in August 1843 it was not on the Statute Book until the November of 1843 and implemented as of January 1844. The majority of arms were registered within the years 1844 & 1845.

         The Act being repealed in the November of 1846 and had fallen into little use after 1845.

                     We are always interested to know of weapons registered under this Act.
