O'Neill 24 Bore duelling/carbine pistol fitted for a shoulder stock
c.1795.
Set trigger and the lock not detented.
Roller to Frizzen and Ramped Spring. Full rainproof pan. Gold breech plug and breech band.
Very little is known of this gunmaker but the quality of this weapon indicates the work of a truly top quality artisan.
So many gunmakers of this time were ex-armourers to the Crown and were either invalided out of service or retired. Therefore, they were in business for short periods due to age or ill health.
