            The above licence was issued in March 1691 prior to the second siege of Limerick.

The above licence having been issued to Mr Christoper Porter? of  Drogheda for his ownership of "One Sword and what looks to be "One Case of Pistols". This is surprisingly early for pistols to be cased as we know them. These "pistolls" possibly cased in a pair of leather or linen holsters?
