Five internationally posted postcards dating from the late 19th century. requesting catalogues, prices and specifications from this highly regarded gunmaker. The above examples written from; Hungary, Sudan, Finland, Italy and Netherlands evidence indeed of the global scope of this company throughout three centuries and now into its fourth.

The foundations of this business being formed in Dublin by John Rigby Snr, (1758-d. 1818) in c.1783. The London business opening in 1866 and the Dublin establishment having been sold to Trulock Harris and Richardson in 1898. 

The John Rigby business has been through a number owners  and thankfully the business is still trading in London today.
