                                                             Sligo 7th September 1779.
We hear from Sligo that a duel was fought between Joshua Cooper, Esq.. and C. O'Hara,Esq., when after discharging a case of pistols each they were happily prevented from proceeding further by the interposition of the seconds.

Report as published in the Connaught Journal dated December 1824.

Two of the most prolific Dublin gunmaking houses alluded to in the above article were William Trulock & Son and William Holland. They both advertised the fact that air guns/canes were readily available from their outlets in Dublin.

        William Holland detailed as an air cane manufacturer at 3 Upper Abbey Street. Dublin.
