Eliott Carbine
Drogheda Corporation
Co:Louth
"DR 167"
Tower lock with GR crowned cypher.
A now confirmed addition to the 1843 Act. "DR" for Drogheda.
Butt tang with Corporation of Drogheda "5"
Classic Eliott ramrod
Elegant handrail stock
We can confirm that the "DR" has been found previously on a pair of fish- tail stocked percussion pistols by Joseph Anglin of Dublin. Therefore, we will be amending the total areas from 39 to 40.
It would appear that the Drogheda Corporation had a armoury of weapons that were not exempt from this legislation.
In most instances all weapons registered in this county would carry the "LH" county Louth prefix.
In due course we will be expanding on this finding.
Our thanks to the owner for photography, details and permission to publish.
We would be pleased to know of any other "DR" or unusual registrations.
