Thomas J. Egan
Gunmaker
Nova Scotia.
Lower Water Street Premises c.1875
Taken from an early 20th century letterheading.
We have no definite connection between these three gunmakers. However, the fact that Patrick Egan
is only listed circa 1846*. it is possible he was involved in the diaspora at this time and established himself as a gunmaker in Nova Scotia. Thomas J. Egan possibly being a family descendant?
Research is ongoing. If anyone has the genealogy of the Egan family of gunmakers we would be pleased to hear from them.
Our thanks to the incorporated link.
* Patrick Egan originally listed by M.S. Dudley Westropp, MRIA.
Journal Arms & Armour Society, 1957.
Vol.11. No 1.
