                The classic Irish derringer. This pistol produced by George Armstrong c.1835.

The back-action lock quickly found favour in Ireland. The Rigby's being heavily influenced by Forsyth's work in England. Many provincial Irish gunmaker's adopting this style and the use of the bottom anchor screw for quick release of the lock assembly. In addition, the percussion hammers also reflecting the early work of Forsyth with the wide collar.

                                 George Armstrong is listed for the period 1824-1856.

                   One address has been located at 54 Main Street, Clonmel, Co: Tipperary.
