Thomas James Boyd. Gunmaker. Limerick

Thomas James Boyd

Gun & Pistol Manufacturer

Limerick.

A trade label for Thomas James Boyd, Limerick.

1840-c.1846.

A combination copperplate engraved and printed trade label possibly originating from the early 1820’s when Boyd first entered the gunmaking business. The above label having the address and text updated in 1840 when Boyd moved to 25 Patrick Street, Limerick.

A previously found trade label for Boyd contained within a cased pair of duelling pistols by John Silk and converted by Thomas James Boyd, 15 Rutland Street is the same design but the text has been updated when Boyd moved premises and relisted his products and services.

We are always keen to buy original gunmakers trade cards/labels especially those of Irish gunmakers.

The gunmakers listed are: William Cole, Joseph Bowls and William Richardson.
