N.B: This blog should be read in conjunction with Pages 38/39 of British Military Firearms 1650-1850 by Howard L.Blackmore. Herbert Jenkins 1961.

The official order placed for 10.000 "Firelock Muskets" by Order of Council on 8th July 1706,
was overseen by Major Wybault and is held at Trinity College, Dublin. A subsequent article written by H.L. Blackmore also covers this document.

We hope to make this "Official Order" sent to the Rotterdam gunsmith, John van Bylaart available in a future blog.

We would be interested to know the meaning of  "Ball C.P" & Pistols C.P?"
